Hundreds of elves crafted a creative Christmas atmosphere at Isaiah Tubbs at West Lake for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Festival of Trees.
More than 100 beautifully decorated Christmas trees and related seasonal decorations are being presented for the three-day giant silent auction to raise funds for medical equipment at Picton hospital.
“We are pleased to continue the generous tradition of the County Festival of Trees in the seasonal spirit of giving and celebration,” said Fran Donaldson, president of the PECMH Auxiliary. “The proceeds will enable us to fulfill our mission to support and assist Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, its patients, staffa nd the local community in meeting their health-care needs by programs such as scholarships for local students in post-secondary health sciences, and contributions to the new cardiac rehab unit and the new digital mammography equipment in our hospital.”
Volunteer entertainers are providing the sounds of the season all weekend.
Saturday’s highlights include the bake sale, from 10 a.m. until sold out; Santa’s visit from 1-4 p.m. upstairs at the MacDonald Hall. Santa Claus returns on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The silent auction of trees closes at 2 p.m. Sunday.
