Two Prince Edward County chefs will slice and dice on television as they compete on the Food Network’s Chopped Canada.

Neil Dowson, 41, and JohnRoss Woodland, 23, join the battle of culinary skill in May episodes.

Chopped Canada is a culinary competition series hosted by Dean McDermott (Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off).

Each episode of Chopped Canada pits four chefs against the clock – and each other – for a chance to win $10,000. Cooking off in head-to-head challenges before a rotating panel of expert judges, the competitors put
their skill and ingenuity to the test in an attempt to turn a basket of mystery ingredients into an extraordinary, three-course meal within a limited amount of time. Course by course, the judges chop the chefs from the competition until only one remains.

Judges include Susur Lee (Top Chef Masters), Lynn Crawford (Pitchin’ In), Chuck Hughes (Chuck’s Week Off), Michael Smith (Chef Michael’s Kitchen), Roger Mooking (Heat Seekers), Vikram Vij (Top Chef
Canada seasons 1 and 2), John Higgins (George Brown College), and Anne Yarymowich (formerly Frank Restaurant).

Neil Dowson, 41, of Picton, is set to cook May 1. He is the chef at the Agrarian in Bloomfield. His cooking style is classic English and French and he would put the prize money toward his daughter’s education.

JohnRoss Woodland, 23, of Picton, is set to cook May 20. JohnRoss is the sous chef at Blumen Garden Bistro. After devoting 16 years of his life to hockey, JohnRoss made the switch to the culinary world to great success. Despite being from a small town, he wants to prove he is a big success! He was on PECI’s silver medal winning Junior Iron Chef Competition team in 2012.

Episodes air Thursdays at 10pm on Food Network Canada, with fresh mystery  ingredients, celebrity judges, and new competitors hungry for a win.
