The County’s Hub Child and Family Centre has launched The Good Baby Box program to assist families to stretch their food dollar, reduce costs and meet needs of their infants and toddlers.

“We are very excited to offer the Good Baby Box Program through our centre,” says Susan Quaiff, Deputy Executive Director of The Hub. “We have hundreds of families accessing our centre each year, so it’s a natural fit.”

With new funding from United Way of Quinte and the Community Development Council of Quinte, the GBB program is expanding into Prince Edward County. The program has been available in Hastings County since 1999, with funding from Hastings County and the United Way. Since its inception, hundreds of families have accessed the program each year.

The Good Baby Box is opening at The Hub Child & Family Centre at 10 McFarland Court in Picton on Tuesday, April 15th.  Parents interested in accessing the program should call 613-476-8142 for store hours and additional information.

The program is open to any family with a child aged two or younger.

“We are thrilled that United Way of Quinte funded this addition to the Good Baby Box Program,” said Ruth Ingersoll, CDCQ Executive Director. “We know that there are families in PEC that will be helped by accessing the program.”
