School board seeks public input

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board wants to know how its doing and invites the public to fill out a survey designed to assist with long-term planning.

“We’re looking for input from everyone,” said Mandy Savery-Whiteway, director of education. “As the local public school board, we want to hear from community members, students, employees and families as we review our goals and priorities for the coming years.”

The school board’s current five-year AiM System Plan will be coming to a conclusion at the end of June 2015. Planning is under way to develop a new multi-year system plan.  Results are to be analyzed and reported in summary in mid- to late March by an independent research firm. A draft plan is to be presented to the board in September 2015 for approval.

The public survey addresses five areas:
The school board’s AiM System Plan, goals and priorities (general knowledge)
Student knowledge, skills and characteristics
Customer service
Community use of school facilities
Communicating with Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board

The electronic survey will be live for three weeks, from now until Feb. 8, 2015. All responses are to be confidential and anonymous.  Paper copies are available at local schools and at the Education Centre, or can be obtained by calling 613.966.1170 or 1.800.267.4350, or emailing communications@hpedsb.on.ca

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Click here: www.HPEschools.ca/PublicSurvey/
