investigation-continuesWhile investigation into Saturday’s fire in Picton continues, a memorial service is being planned for Zachary Dubois, 25, who lost his life at the scene.

The Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal is continuing its investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and are looking into a delay in the activation of two smoke alarms in the home.

The source of the morning fire is also not yet confirmed.

The Prince Edward County Fire department arrived at the 30 Main Street Picton scene before 9 a.m. More than 30 firefighters battled extreme heat and dense smoke using three pumpers and two rescue trucks.
