Ontario PC Leader helps local kids sharpen hockey skills

Patrick Brown, avid hockey fan and Ontario PC Leader, helped lead hockey drills during the Quinte Red Devils hockey camp session at Rhino Sports in Belleville Thursday night.

“When I’m travelling across the province, I’m always looking for ways to stay active,” Brown said. “I was lucky enough to help the next generation of hockey players hone their skills on the ice.”

Brown visited the camp with MPP Todd Smith and Conservative candidate Darryl Kramp.

Brown is a life-long hockey player and fan. For the past nine years he has organized charity hockey games, raising more than $1.8 million for Simcoe County charities. Past and present NHL players that have participated include Connor McDavid, Steven Stamkos, Corey Perry, Bryan Little, Mike Gartner, Shayne Corson, Darcy Tucker, Barrie Colts coach Dale Hawerchuk, Matt Beleskey, Mark Scheifele and Aaron Ekblad.

“It’s no secret that I love hockey,” Brown said. “I always jump at the chance to put on my skates – especially when it’s this hot out!”
