Nine Prince Edward County Firefighters are among graduates of the Ontario Fire College Module B course training which took place for the first time Sept. 22-26 at the Hastings and Prince Edward Training Complex at Trenton. Also pictured are Bob Downey and Jim Young who are now certified Ontario Fire College Associate Instructors. Steve Dawson, Steve Everall, Timothy Jones, Tim Kraemer, Wes Manlow, Bryan Markland, Dale Milligan, Jeremy Prinzen and Jason Young have now studied, practised and were tested on most of the key elements in firefighting during this session and Module A sessions held earlier this year and last year. All 11 participants wrote a provincial firefighting exam to gain certification from the Ontario Fire College. Training includes in-class studying and on-the-scene training and testing in 30 different areas of curriculum including chemistry of combustion, protective clothing, self-contained breathing apparatus, ropes and knots, ladders, water supply, hoses and appliances, fire streams, extinguishers, fire suppression, ventilation, and search and rescue.
