New bilingual visitor guide showcases County’s hidden gems

The County has released a 2019 Visitor Guide – a bilingual, 28-page publication illustrated by local artist Kelly Panacci.
The guide is an extension of The County’s tourism website, VisitPEC.ca, providing hot tips, bucket list experiences, a detailed map, events and festivals, and an overview of the County’s diverse regions.
“A fully illustrated guide is a first for the County and we couldn’t be happier with the result,” said Neil Carbone, Director of Community Development and Strategic Initiatives. “Kelly Panacci did a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the County and bringing it to life through illustration. Our hope is that visitors will use the guide to discover experiences in the County that they might have otherwise missed.”
The publication is intended to encourage visitors to explore off-the-beaten-path areas, to help alleviate congestion during peak season, and to recognize the County’s many charms outside the summer months.
“Working in accommodations, we hear first-hand from visitors about the challenges they face,” said Jason Sharpe, Chair of the Prince Edward County Accommodations Association, a member-based tourism marketing board founded in 2018 by a number of accommodation providers. “We’re happy to share these new booklets with folks staying in our accommodations. We expect that it will help visitors get around the County and explore the many things to do year-round.”
Visitors can find the print guide at the nine tourism “hot spot” locations, and online. It will also be distributed through members of the PEC Accommodations Association, the County’s five museums, the Chamber of Commerce, and other local businesses.
Tourism-related businesses that are interested in receiving copies can contact Ashley Stewart, Destination Development & Marketing Coordinator, at astewart@pecounty.on.ca
